RODEZ - AVEYRON
How to get there
Rodez is very easily accessible from Calais. It is a 9
hours drive almost all the way by motorway, using the new A75
motorway crossing France from North to South.
Accommodation
Stay in 2* hotels and authentic and comfortable "chambre
d'hôtes". Meals: traditional regional gastronomy: foie gras,
duck magrets, Aveyron veal and meat speciality, cabécous and
croustades (pie).
Pets not allowed.
Programme
This cycling excursion takes you through prestigious
routes with a unique heritage including castles (Pruines, la
Servayrie, Vieillevie, Belcastel), churches, cathedrals, abbeys.
It links several beautiful towns and medieval villages: Rodez,
St Austremoine, Salles la Source, Marcillac, Entraygues,
Peyrusse le Roc, Villefranche de Rouergue and stunning varied
landscapes to be discovered every day.
You will discover a strong historical heritage along the
Marcillac vineyard, the Conques country, the Lot valley, the
Aveyron gorge, the large open spaces of Ségala and Causse
country.
Level required
This itinerary is for amateur cyclists, some uphill
sections but nothing very difficult. 18 to 46km divided in
stages on small roads,

Group from 2 to 10 participants, Open for children.
Length
11 days/10 nights (9 days cycling) or 8 days/7 nights (6
days cycling).
Optional
Luggage carriage can be organised from one hotel to the
other. You can also leave a suitcase in the first hotel and
carry a minimum amount of luggage during the tour.
