Champagne

The Aube, the place you have been looking for

Discover France’s most sparkling region

Just a hop from London via the Ferry , one and a half hours from Paris and an hour south of Reims, you will find a tiny paradise with everything charming and relaxing about the French way of life. Gastronomic cuisine in a refined setting, vineyards as far as the eye can see, tasting the best champagne vintages in typical Champagne cellars, meeting the winegrowers, an authentic architecture with half timbered houses in medieval city of Troyes, antique shops and local specialities to bring home, as well as a bargain not to be missed in Troyes ‘ factory shops : the temple of fashion.

Discover Nigloland, the fourth theme park in France and Renoir's home and resting-place. This unique area with its Made in France charm is Aube en Champagne.

From Bar-sur-Seine to Bar-sur-Aube, on little sparkling lanes

Visitors are cordially invited to come and have a drink in La Côte des Bar. This is the main part of the Aube where this sweet nectar is produced. It is a real horn of plenty, located in the south of the département, where Champagne and Burgundy touch.

In this area of low hills and verdant valleys, watered by the Ource and the Arce, you will be amazed by the beauty of the landscape.

As you take the Route touristique du champagne (Champagne tourist route), with its random meanders, you'll be treated to some really superb views.

Just like the hospitality, given quite simply, in the wine-growers' homes.

In these villages that are as picturesque as ever, the wine-producer/handler will gladly open the door down to his cellar.

Descent to the kingdom of pleasures.

Under the vaults that in some cases go back to the 12th century, in the coolness and the half-light, you should take the time to taste the wine and to hear the producer tell you about its magic.

With a champagne glass in his hand, he will tell you all about his age-old know-how.
He's proud of it. Beside him, all nicely aligned, thousands of bottles lie dormant, with the wine in them maturing to perfection. Until the time that the cork pops, amid people's cheers.

And why not discovering this region on your bike, it will give you even more time to enjoy the vineyards landscapes and taste the champagne. But be careful, do not cycle and drink!!!
